The Ditch Gypsies are a couple of friends who met at the massively popular open mic night at the George and Dragon pub in Salisbury, UK. The overall standard of these weekly events is incredible and with a collaboration-friendly environment, Reid and Shelley gave a couple of songs a go. Shelley needed accompaniment due to a hand injury and Reid wanted someone to harmonise with and the Ditch Gypsies was born.

This collaboration really developed when we set off busking in the local marketplace. Something about freezing to death and entertaining the eclectic array of people in the town brought the gypsies closer together. After continuing to play at the open mics the ditch gypsies took the next step performing their own gigs around the town. We also launched a karaoke / live music hybrid night at the pub where we met and continue to perform and host this night every Wednesday.
